GETTING THERE
Tabarka

Tabarka, Tunisia

TABARKA

Aïn Draham, Tunisia

AÏN DRAHAM

Bulla Regia, Tunisia

BULLA REGIA

Chemtou, Tunisia

CHEMTOU

The airport is 14 km east of the centre of Tabarka. If you don't have pre-arranged transport, getting out of here involves hiring a taxi. This should cost between 6TD and 10TD. If money matters, you may walk down to the main road, and wait for a bus or shared taxi.
According to the information we have gathered there are a few companies for car rentals at the airport.
We have no information about tax-free shops at the airport, but we believe that there must be at least a basic outlet.
Tabarka is really the only place within miles with good facilities for travellers. But should you wish to travel, it is also a great starting point for explorations into the mountainous northwest. This area is dotted with fine Roman ruins (Bulla Regia and Chemtou are the finest) and scenic landscapes (especially around Aïn Draham). It may become terribly hot in mid-summer, but the mountains are fresh. The same places can be covered with snow in winter. Summer is the only season here for beach activities, while spring and fall are the best ones for cultural activities.
