Rafsanjan
Persian: rafsanjān

City in central Iran with 160,000 inhabitants (2009 estimate), in Kerman province.
The regional economy of Rafsanjan is especially rich in producing pistachio. There is also a great industry of producing rugs, which are sold in the domestic market as Kermani. Copper mines lie nearby.
Rafsanjan has two universities, and branch of the the Islamic Azad University.
Rafsanjan's most famous person is former president of Iran, Hashemi Rafsanjani.
