(Dead 1479 BCE) Ruler of Assyria 1503-1479 BCE, 24 years. He succeeded his father, Ashur-Nirari 1 to the Assyrian throne. He is mainly remembered for rebuilding the Ishtar temple in Ashur, and adding to the city walls. He was succeeded by his son, Enlil-nasir 1, and although a long and weak period followed, Assyrian kings over the several hundred years were all his descendants.
