Ruler of Assyria for a brief period in 824 BCE. He was the son of Shalmaneser 3 and brother of Shamshi-Adad 5, and fought against the both for the Assyrian throne.
Biography 826: Starts a rebellion from Nineveh against prince Shamshi-Adad and king Shalmaneser 3, his brother and father. The rebellion would win great momentum, he would manage to win over to his side 27 important cities. He had forged an alliance with the Babylonian king, Marduk-balatsuiqbi. 824: Has king Shalmaneser 3 removed from power by, but he would shortly after be defeated by Shamshi-Adad 5, who would secure the throne for himself. Shortly after, Shalmaneser dies. 820: He is finally defeated. He does not die, but disappears from history.
